What does the beach have to offer?

The beach is about 5 kilometres long. It is wide and, because there are lifeguards and first aid present its safe. Feel like a snack? There is a long row of beach pavilions waiting for you. If you want to avoid the crowds, take your bike and enter the dunes. Through narrow paths you will find peaces of the beach that cannot be reached by car.

Boulevard

The boulevard is a nice place to relax. Here you can enjoy the sea view. The cafes and restaurants with beautiful views will certainly provide a romantic atmosphere.

A look around the village

The historical fishermens'houses determine the image of the centre. Wandering around the alleys you will taste the atmosphere of old times. You can get rested on one of the many terraces. If the weather isn't good you can go swimming in the subtropical swimming paradise.

Sights

The lighthouse is constructed on the boulevard. This special construction is a monument for a heroic act of Lieutenant RN Jan van Speyk. Egmond also has a strong connection to a lot of monastic orders. In the vicinity of Egmond there are three monasteries still in use, among which the Abbey of Egmond in Egmond Binnen. In Egmond aan de Hoef you will find the ruins of Egmond castle. The former residence of the Count of Egmond, who was married to Jacoba van Beieren. You can take a look around.
