New Year's Day plunge 2027

UPDATE: The New Year’s Dip 2026 in Noordwijk has been cancelled today. According to the organisers, the wind is too strong (force 7), making swimming conditions unsafe.

Many residents and visitors of Egmond aan Zee kick off the new year with a refreshing dip in the North Sea. A tradition held annually since 1982. This creates plenty of entertainment on 1 January across several beaches.

What began with just 10 participants has grown considerably, and the New Year’s Dive in Egmond aan Zee is now well on its way to becoming the largest dive in North Holland.
